Pindrop Hires Cisco Executive Robert Krohn as SVP of Engineering to Expand Engineering Leadership

Company Focused on Building Fraud Detection and Authentication Solutions Transforming the Call Center Experience

Atlanta, GA – December, 13th, 2016: Pindrop, the pioneer in voice-fraud prevention and authentication, today announced two executive hires to their engineering team: Robert Krohn as SVP of Engineering and, Ephraim Dobbins as VP of Engineering for fraud detection products. The two executives join Chris Halaschek, VP of Engineering for authentication products, to form the engineering leadership team. They join a team that added more than 50 engineers and 13 researchers in 2016.

With the release of its Fraud Detection System 3.0 (FDS 3.0) in mid- 2016, Pindrop continued to advance the accuracy of its patented Phoneprinting (™) technology. FDS is now used by eight of the top ten banks in the US to stop fraud via the phone channel in some of the biggest call centers in the US. Additionally the new engineering leadership is focused on expanding Pindrop’s product offering to enhance the consumer experience.

New executive appointments include:

  • Robert Krohn, SVP of Engineering, is a distinguished, longtime technology leader at public companies as well as startups.  He has been working in software, cloud and system engineering leadership roles, as well as general management and operations for 20+ years. Prior to joining Pindrop, Krohn held several leading positions as an executive at Cisco, and at Juniper Networks. He’s also served as board observer for iStream Planet Co. and startup advisor for Twin Prime Inc.
  • Ephraim Dobbins, VP of Engineering for fraud detection products, joins Pindrop from leadership roles at Plexxi and Acme Packet. He is longtime engineer with key skills in telecommunications, software and IP. Per his specialty in networking and VoIP, Dobbins will oversee and analyze the phone channel to improve customer service.
  • Chris Halaschek, VP of Engineering for authentication products, has extensive experience building engineering teams and technology companies focused on security, data analytics and machine learning. Prior to Pindrop, he was CTO at Voxa, Hashgo, and Clados Management. Halaschek received a Ph.D. in computer science from University of Maryland, College Park.

Earlier this year, Pindrop added more leaders to their growing management team. Namely, Clarissa Cerda joined as General Counsel and Jacki Hertenstein joined as Vice President of People. Headquartered in Atlanta, Pindrop has plans to open a San Francisco office in early 2017. The San Francisco office will combine focus on engineering, research and product development.
