How the Pindrop® Pulse Deepfake Warranty Works

The Pulse Deepfake Warranty is an exclusive warranty included at no additional cost to Pindrop customers who have a 3-year subscription to the entire Pindrop® Product Suite (Pindrop® Protect, Pindrop® Passport, and Pindrop® Pulse). The Pulse Deepfake Warranty provides Pindrop customers a method for reimbursement for the financial loss they incur due to undetected synthetic voice fraud on eligible calls analyzed by the Pindrop Product Suite.*

The Pindrop® Pulse Deepfake Warranty is a first-of-its-kind security operations warranty that backstops Pindrop’s award-winning deepfake detection technology for certain losses in the event of synthetic voice fraud. The Pindrop Pulse Deepfake Warranty is included at no extra cost when a new Pindrop customer subscribes to a minimum three-year subscription to the full Pindrop Product Suite (Pindrop® Protect, Pindrop® Passport, and Pindrop® Pulse).  If a synthetic voice call results in a confirmed fraud and it is not detected by the Pindrop Product Suite, the Pulse Deepfake Warranty provides for reimbursement of the financial loss incurred and reimbursed to an account holder up to the applicable Reimbursement Cap for the Warranty Period.

“Synthetic voice fraud” refers to the fraudulent or unauthorized use of (1) the recordings of a customer’s genuine account holder’s or end user’s voice to request a specific transaction; or (2) an artificial intelligence (AI) derived impersonation of an account holder’s or end user’s voice (sometimes referred to as ‘deepfakes’).

The Pindrop Product Suite consists of the Pindrop® Pulse deepfake detection solution, the Pindrop® Protect anti-fraud solution, and the Pindrop® Passport authentication solution.

Protecting the contact center from synthetic voice fraud requires a multi-factor approach. With Pindrop Protect, our anti-fraud solution, and Pindrop Passport, our authentication tool, Pindrop Pulse adds a critical layer of detection to help protect against bad actors’ tools. The Pindrop Pulse solution is only available as an add-on feature for a Pindrop customer’s existing subscriptions to the Pindrop Protect and/or Pindrop Passport solutions.

When submitting a reimbursement request, a customer will confirm the call in question is fraudulent. Pindrop will review and analyze the confirmed fraud call recording to determine the presence of synthetic voice fraud, and thereafter, use the call recording and intelligences gained from the analyses to develop and train Pindrop’s models to improve fraud detection. Without access to the confirmed fraud call recording, Pindrop cannot verify if synthetic voice was used, which will result in rejection of the reimbursement request. 

The warranty is valid for the duration of a three-year subscription term to the Pindrop Pulse product, provided the eligibility criteria is met.

The Pulse Deepfake Warranty will be included at no additional charge with a three-year subscription to the Pindrop Pulse product, when included as part of the full Pindrop Product Suite.

No. As this is a product warranty, it is only available to eligible customers who subscribe to the Pindrop Pulse technology, as part of the Pindrop Product Suite.

The Pindrop® Pulse Deepfake Warranty is currently available only to Pindrop customers in the United States and Canada.

The losses eligible for reimbursement are the actual amounts that a Pindrop customer reimburses to its customer or account holder for funds stolen due to a synthetic voice fraud call that was not detected by the Pindrop Product Suite. See the Pindrop Pulse Warranty Terms
Fraud resulting from the intentional actions of a customer’s employee, fraud prevention processes that fall below industry standards, or any unauthorized alteration of the Pindrop products and services are excluded from the warranty. Other exclusions include fraudulent, criminal, or malicious acts by an account holder, violations of the law, and events and losses that occur outside the warranty period. New and existing customers with the minimum subscription term required for the Pindrop Product Suite will be eligible to receive the warranty. An eligible synthetic voice fraud call must have been processed by the full Pindrop Product Suite and scoring completed for the call. Also, a customer’s call center must have fraud prevention policies that include detection and prevention of first-party fraud. A copy of the recording must be available to Pindrop for review and analysis, this could be one available through the UI of the Pindrop Product Suite or one provided by you if the call recording is no longer accessible via the UI because it was deleted per the call recording retention configuration.
